Alina Cho is a journalist that is originally from Vancouver, Washington. Alina went to multiple colleges for her many degrees and while she was at Boston College she and my father became great friends and she actually was in my parents wedding but I still have not met her. Alina’s career focuses mainly on fashion journalism but she also does different stories where she interviews noteworthy people. Some of the interesting people she has done stories on are; Sting, Gabriela Hearst the creative director of Chloe, Vera Wang, Naomi Campbell, and a multitude of others. Alina started out working with CNN where she was the host of their show “Fashion: Backstage Pass”. She now hosts a fashion talk show at the Met in New York City where she interviews some of the biggest names in fashion called “The Atelier with Alina Cho”. Cho actually just recently received an Emmy for Outstanding Morning Program for the work she has done on CBS Sunday Morning. There is no info on how much Cho makes per story or what her annual salary is but I would assume it is a big chunk of money considering she lives in one of NYC’s nicest apartment buildings with a view looking over central park. Cho has such an interesting life she often hangs out with Martha Stewart, Paris Hilton, and John Demsey the executive president of Estee Lauder. One of her most noteworthy stories is called “A Sunday Morning in Florence”. In this story she interviewed Sting and his wife Trudie Styler and stayed at their house in the Italian Countryside for a week. In this program she interviewed them about their lives in Italy where they actually make their own wine, honey, olive oil, and of course music. This program is actually the one that got Alina her first Emmy. I find Alina very interesting because I am super into fashion and she attends every show from Balenicaga to Tom Ford to Saint Laurent.
