Bill Dedman - Investigative Journalist

Investigative journalism is a very unique and interesting form of journalism. It is the process in which a journalist deeply investigates a certain topic of interest and breaks it down. Bill Dedman is one of the greatest investigative journalists of all time. Bill is from Chattanooga Tennessee and has won multiple awards for his talented abilities to produce amazing journalism. His most famous accolade he has won is the Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Reporting and this is very meaningful to the journalism community. Bill Dedman is also a very versatile journalist who has worked in online news, videos, newspapers, television, and magazines. His piece of work that earned him the Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Reporting was an investigative piece called, The Color of Money. This was about discrimination of people of color at banks and mortgage companies around the world. Bill Dedman's main theme throughout his journalism was human rights and he was very good at getting his points across and catching the attention of his audience.

Bill Dedman has worked for a lot of companies but he is employed by Newsday for his talent in investigative journalism. This has been his employer for quite some time and he is not a freelance journalist but has his own creative techniques to take his reporting abilities to the next level. I know Bill Dedman gets paid for his work but I could not find the exact amount per story he reports on. Bill Dedman created a great report called, The Color of Money. Another one of his well known pieces of work was Empty Mansions and this touched upon the mysterious life of Huguette Clark and the spending of a great American fortune. Bill has also covered stories for NBC News and one of his best reports was about the Pentagon's efforts to label serviceman and women post war. In my opinion The Color of Money is the most interesting piece fo work from Bill Dedman and got into detail about how Atlanta banks were not treating people with equal respect. With all of this information Bill Dedham provided it made a change to Atlanta banks and helped a lot of people. I really like Bill Dedman because he writes with a purpose to solve issues and make people's lives easier. I am a helpful person who is always trying to make those around me happy so I thought he was relatable.
