Ronan Farrow is a popular American journalist. He is best known for his investigative reporting of allegations of sexual abuse against Harvey Weinstein in 2017. This piece in specific, was published in The New Yorker and had won the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service. Farrow also exposed additional allegations against Brett Kavanaugh, Eric Schneiderman, and Les Moonves. Today, he currently makes regular appearances on the NBC show, Today. More specifically, he hosted the “Undercover with Ronan Farrow” on the Today show.
In Ronan Farrow’s, “From Aggressive Overtures to Sexual Assault: Harvey Weinstein’s Accusers Tell Their Stories,” several women report their accounts of sexual assault and harassment by Weinstein. The piece begins with Farrow going into detail about Harvey Weinstein’s life, and how he was a powerful man as a film executive. Farrow also explains that although Weinstein has faced assault allegations in the past, none of the claims have been supported by sufficient evidence. However, Farrow’s investigative piece differs in that he completed a ten-month investigation, where he was informed that between the 1990s and 2015, thirteen women had been sexually assaulted by Weinstein. Additionally, numerous people admitted to knowing about the unwanted sexual advances. Therefore, Farrow uncovered imperative information in the case against Harvey Weinstein.
In Farrow’s “Four Women Accuse New York’s Attorney General of Physical Abuse,” Eric Schneiderman is exposed for sexual misconduct. Now the ex-attorney general, Schneiderman denied all allegations made against him. Farrow disagreed and stated that “it wasn’t a gray area at all. This was activity that happened in many cases fully clothed outsider of a sexual context during arguments.”
In “Les Moonves and CBS Face Allegations of Sexual Misconduct,” Farrow exposes Les Moonves, the former C.E.O of CBS Corporation, of harassment and intimidation. Farrow reported six different accounts of women coming forward saying they have experienced abuse in the workplace at the hands of Moonves.
